Officially opened in 1999, Shanghai Mart was the first permanent international trade mart in the PRC. It is the largest of its kind in Asia with a total GFA of 280,000 sq m. The complex is a composite building that functions as a mart, an office tower, and a expo centre. Shanghai Mart is situated on No. 2299 Yannan Road (West), a prime location in the Shanghai Hong Qiao Development Zone and a landmark in the Changning District. It is a 20-minute drive from the Shanghai Hongqiao traffic hub, and is accessible by subway lines 2 and 10 as well as various bus lines. The Group acquired 49% shares of the project company in September 2014 through a joint venture with Shanghai Industrial Urban Development Group Limited.
